More Thrift Store Finds

I found this table at the recycle center for $10.00. Someone had started to remove the veneer from the top. I guess I will finish that and paint it white (of course!).

This little shelf was found at Salvation Army for 3.99. I think it will be painted also!

Found this piece also at SA. I think is was 6.99 and the good thing is it is already white!! The little drawers are perfect for my miniature making supplies...Maybe I should stay out of the thrift stores for a while (probably  not!!)

Trash to Treasure Tuesday March 23, 2010

I found this table at a resale shop...
I decided to paint it white..
Then I found this little chair at the recycle center for two bucks.....actually it wasn't in that bad shape but I wanted it white...
and recovered the seat. I found the fabric at the thrift store for $1.00....sooo the whole project cost three bucks plus a little white paint...that is a staple in my house!

Grandma and Grandpa's Wedding Cake Topper

This was on my grandparents wedding cake, June 10, 1939. It is almost 71 years old. They look pretty good for that age! When I was younger I wanted a wedding cake with this topper on it. I never had the big dress, big wedding fantasy just this topper on a cake. When Alan and I were married last March it never occurred to me to have a cake. We had a VERY small wedding...just two witnesses. I guess I thought if I wasn't having a big wedding we didn't need a cake. Now I wish I had.... I am joining Mosaic Monday at Little Red House. Click on the button and take a look.

Workroom Update.............

I have been busy painting for two days. I am out of white paint!!
This is an old kitchen cabinet that I had in the basement....
I decided to paint it white and use it as a small bookcase/dollhouse stand....
This side of the room is the pretty side with lots of storage in the dresser drawers...
Notice the bride and groom cake topper on the left in front of the flowers. It was on my grandparents wedding cake 71 years ago.
This side of the room is storage..not as pretty as the other side.
I still have work to do. I have not decided if I will paint the computer cart or try to find one that is white and black.  This is still a work in progress! I will post more pictures later.

A Miniature Tablescape

This is the dining table from my dollhouse. The "new" house is under renovation.....

The "homeowner" Mr. Mann can hardly believe the mess....

and nearly took a tumble down the stairwell before he realized the contractors had removed the stairs....

Poor Mr. Mann...he may have to move his family into the old house because the contractor is way behind schedule! and over budget!

More to come on the "reno" of the Mann home.

Work Room Before.......

Some before shots of the work room.....I need to do a lot of painting! All the furniture will be white. Better get the paint brushes out!
I have always wanted a chandelier in a unexpected place...bathroom, bedroom...anyway the bedroom ceiling is not wired and I didn't think I was up to the challenge, so I found the transfer on sale for $11.00 at Home Goods (where else!) I think it looks pretty and it is opposite the door...the first thing you see when entering the room.

My Dream Work Space!!!!!!

I found this work space on Christel Jensen's blog. It is gorgeous! I have decided to redecorate my work space and this in my inspiration! I will post more pictures when I get them downloaded.
